Siblings....
I had a great question on TikTok that prompted me to answer if I had a sibling.. Me and my sister are 9 years apart ( same parents ). It's an age gap that confuses most people. However, it sparks the great conversation of the realities of infertility. My mom had me. Yet, it took her 9 years to get successfully pregnant again with my sister. She had pregnancies and with pregnancies, came more miscarriages than I could probably count. She could get pregnant but could never make it past the 12 week mark. It's a struggle for women who want their first baby but when it's your second with successfully producing a first it's an unexplainable mental torture that most people don't talk about. You did it once. Why can't it happen again? Whats wrong with me? What's changed? Yet, there is no one to talk about those women's struggled. Infertility is broad range and very much real. So, the next time you see 2 kids with a big age gap, think twice about asking why.
